The details tab in a case contains two major features: milestones and custom fields. Milestones track the progress of your cases to ensure your case plan is being followed on schedule. Any custom fields you have created will be displayed alongside the "Milestones" tab. Case custom fields allow you to create your own fields tailored to your particular business needs.
