# System Messaging

This lesson explains the functionality of system messaging within AgileCase.

### Accessing messages

System messaging allows you to send messages to other system users within AgileCase. To access messaging, click your username and select **Messages** in the dropdown menu.

### Inbox

This takes you to your inbox, where you can view messages sent to you, sent items, and your recycle bin.

To read a message, click the hyperlinked content under the **Subject** heading.

### Viewing a message

When viewing a message, you can see the message in full. To reply, click the **Reply** button. This takes you to the message composition window where you can write your reply.

To return to your inbox, click the **Messages** button.

### Creating a new message

To create a new message, click the **New Message** button under the **Messages** button on the user menu.

Opening a message in a case adds an additional field showing that the message concerns the open case.

### Compose your message

After selecting a new message, choose a recipient and compose your message. When you have finished, click the **Send** button to send your message.
