Advanced Merge Tokens allow you to embed items other than case/contact data into a Emails created via a Template.  For example you can attach documents, generate share links and much more by using these advanced tokens.

Creating and Attaching Documents to your Emails

Merge Token FormatVariablesDescription
{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.AttachDocument}}<Document Template Code>

This token allows you to Attach a Document to your email automatically using the Document Template Code. It will find an attach the most recent Document created with the provided Template Code. If the Document does not already exist it will not attach anything to the email.

You can find the Document Template code for you templates on the Document Template settings screen.

{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.CreateDocument}}<Document Template Code>

This token allows you to Create and Attach a Document to your email automatically using the Document Template Code. It will create a new Document using the provided Template Code.

You can find the Document Template code for you templates on the Document Template settings screen.

{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.AttachDocumentAsPDF}}<Document Template Code>

This token behaves identically to "AttachDocument" but will convert the resulting document to a PDF before attaching it to the email.

{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.CreateDocumentAsPDF}}<Document Template Code>

This token behaves identically to "CreateDocument" but will convert the resulting document to a PDF before attaching it to the email.

{{Case.Document.ByFileUploadID.<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>.AttachDocument}}<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>This token allows you to take any file uploaded to a File Upload Control custom field and attach it to your document.
{{Case.Document.ByFileUploadID.<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>.AttachDocumentAsPDF}}<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>This token allows you to take Microsoft Word files uploaded to a File Upload Control custom field and attach it to your document converted to a PDF format. If the file within the control is of a non-Word format and therefore not able to be converted to PDF then the original file is attached instead.


Outputting Document Sharing Links within your Emails

Generates and embeds a Document Sharing Link with a splash page. See 10.9 Document Sharing for more details.

{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.DirectLink}}<Document Template Code>

As above but is a direct download link to the file.

{{Case.Document.ByTemplateID.<Document Template Code>.PDFLink}}<Document Template Code>As above but converts the file to PDF.
{{Case.Document.ByFileUploadID.<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>.ShareLink}}<File Upload Control Custom Field ID>

Outputting Case Connect Links and Short Links within your Emails

{{Contact.<RelationshipName>.CaseConnectLink}}<RelationshipName>

Generates and embeds a Case Connect Link. This allow the specified related contact within the Case to view specific tabs for the Case which have been configured. See 15.2 Configuring Case Connect for more details.

{{Contact.<RelationshipName>.ShortCaseConnectCode}}<RelationshipName>

Generates and embeds a Short 8 character code which is an alternative way for users to access their Case Connect Link. The Short Code is better for sending via Text Message or Paper Letter. The customer can visit https://connect.agilecase.com/c/portal to enter their Short Code and Last Nam.
